Life Renewed is a two part mini-series that explores religious ceremonies that signal a rebirth of faith, of opportunity and of hope through forgiveness and ritual.

Part One – To Forgive … Divine

Woven around the ritual celebration of Yom Kippur and the Christian Sacrament of Reconciliation, To Forgive… Divine explores the concept of forgiveness through very personal stories. These stories will demonstrate forgiveness in a variety of human situations – from the deep personal wounds of intra-family betrayal, to individual acts of crime and violence, to the wider cruelties of racial hatred and international hostility.

Part Two – The Great Night of Shiva

Worshippers at an ancient Hindu festival unite in a day of gratitude, dance and prayer. Mahashivratri celebrants gather to seek reassurance from their most destructive god that universal good will prevail and life will be reborn. They express hope that the environment will be protected and humankind will be blessed with clean air, fresh water and a world free from the evils of war, oppression and terrorism.
